Tips for being helpful when making a reservation:

We receive more than 60 reservation enquire and confirmations messages everyday on average. Many people phone or write a few times before making a reservation. If a guest say: "Yes, book me the room that we have been talking about, please." Most likely we cannot remember your specifics. Therefore your brief review of which room we had been talking about, the room rates, the number of people, the nights of your stay and any other special details will be very much appreciated.

The Crew

Mike and Ruowen own both Jarvis House and Ambassador Inn.

Mike is a hospitable, gracious, and warm-hearted person who enjoys people. Mike worked in the P.X (Post Exchange) in an U.S. military base in Vietnam before he came to Canada in 1975. Mike enjoys fishing, cars, stereo systems, and most of all, friends and family.

Ruowen is responsible for on-line reservations, business promotions, and any other business related matters. She responds to email messages promptly. If you received no reply within 24 hours, please give her a call in case she did not get your email or her email reply cannot reach you for some reason.

As a mother of two children, Ruowen puts education above everything else in life. She taught English as a Second Language as a specialist for ten years, started a learning centre for young children, while administering her family business. Ruowen has a passionate interest in reading and evaluating children's literature. Her hobbies include collecting quality books and writing. Ruowen is dedicated to writing culturally diverse stories for children and has a dream of becoming a successful Canadian publisher who will encourage minority writers and artists, as well as promote multicultural children's literature.
