Location of Jarvis House and Ambassador Inn

We are near the Yonge St. & College/ Carlton Sts. intersection:

Jarvis House is at #344 Jarvis Street , two blocks east of Yonge Street, and north of Carlton Street. Ambassador Inn is at #280 Jarvis Street, south of Carlton Street.

Both Jarvis House and Ambassador Inn are close to boutique shops, restaurants, nightclubs, theatres, galleries, and museums, just to mention a few. The well-known Eaton Centre, Toronto City Hall , the Ontario Legislature at Queen's Park, Ryerson University , the University of Toronto , and four major hospitals are all a five to fifteen-minute-walk away.

The Convention Centre, Harbourfront, Centre Island, the Air Canada Centre, the CN Tower, the Roger's Centre (previously known as SkyDome), and the downtown business and financial district are about a twenty to thirty-minute-walk, or a $6 to $8 taxi ride.

We are close to many kinds of transportation:

Union Station is only four short subway stops away from the Yonge & College subway station, a five-minute walk from us. 24-hour public transit, a few steps from our houses, makes the whole of Metro Toronto easily accessible. In addition, the airport bus makes regular stops at a hotel on Jarvis Street between our Jarvis House and Ambassador Inn.

Directions to Jarvis House and Ambassador Inn

1. From Union Station-via public transit:

Take the Yonge Street subway north four stops to the Yonge & College station, and then take streetcar #506 two blocks east to get off at Jarvis Street . For Jarvis House , turn left and walk north a few houses to #344 Jarvis Street . For Ambassador Inn , turn right and walk south a few houses to #280 Jarvis Street . If you prefer not to wait for the streetcar, you can walk over in merely five minutes.

2. From the Lester B. Pearson International Airport :

Take an airport express bus to the Ramada Hotel at #300 Jarvis Street , between Jarvis House and Ambassador Inn. It takes 75 minutes to get here. For Airport Express, please call: 905-564-3232. An airport limo can also bring you from the airport in about 25 to 30 minutes, and costs $46 - $49 Cdn. Airport Silver guarantees $42 Cdn per car for our guests. Their number is 416-292-2292. A limousine can meet you in about 5 minutes.

3. Highway directions from airport:

Follow the 427 South. Exit the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) east to the Gardiner Expressway. Then exit at the Jarvis off-ramp (just past the CN Tower). Turn left at the traffic light at the bottom of the off-ramp. Continue north on Jarvis Street to Ambassador Inn at #280 Jarvis Street, or to Jarvis House at #344 Jarvis Street. Both houses are on the west side of the street (your left hand side).

4. Highway directions from Ottawa/Montreal:

Follow the 401 Westbound to the Don Valley Parkway south (DVP). Proceed south on the DVP and exit at Bayview/Bloor Streets. Follow the Bloor sign and at the top of the hill turn right onto Bloor Street . Continue along Bloor Street , turn left onto Jarvis Street at the third traffic light, and drive south. Jarvis House is at #344 Jarvis St , and Ambassador Inn is further south at #280 Jarvis Street.

5. Highway directions: from Windsor/Detroit:

If you are coming from Windsor/Detroit, follow signs to the 401 East. Continue along 401 to 427 South to the Q.E.W. Follow the Q. E.W., which merges into the Gardiner Expressway. Exit at the Jarvis Street off-ramp just past the CN Tower. Turn left at the traffic light at the bottom of the off-ramp and go north on Jarvis.
